Greetings & and Happy Holidays to our Friends and Family!

We hope this letter finds you all well and enjoying all the excitement of this time of year.

This has been a very interesting year for us. We have survived another year in “The Last Frontier”. Several of you have come for a visit. We loved having everyone here and sharing with you the adventure of Alaska. This is also an open invitation to all of you to come up and see us. We have been living in temperatures below zero for about a month now and would love to share the experience with you. We aren’t used to it yet! Note: this is particularly cold for this time of year. Unfortunately, when it’s this cold it cannot snow and it’s painful to get out and play.

We were able to make a trip to visit friends in Fairbanks. It is strange driving for 8 continuous hours without any civilization between here and Fairbanks.

On that trip we were able to stop in at the North Pole and spend some time with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Don’t worry; we put in a good word for all of you. They were quite charming! It really brings out the kid in you!

Santa made good on one promise this year-a little early. We found out at the end of August that we are going to have a baby in April. After Thanksgiving the ultrasound showed that “It’s a BOY!” All the changes have been fun and interesting. Uncle Bob has put in dibs on a name…we will put them all in a hat and if he wins we’ll have “Little Ricky Bobby”. (We are open to other suggestions…but thanks Bob.)

Donnie is counting the days until his commitment to the Military is complete. (I think the count is around 570 days to go.) When time allows, he enjoys a good hike, practicing his photography skills, getting out on the ice and scrimmaging with Heather, and being a white water rafting tour guide in the summer. He’s really going to miss this place when it’s time to go in July 2008.

Heather is a Junior this year. She likes her teachers; she is really working hard, making great friends and still playing Ice Hockey. The coaches have nicknamed her the “Pit Bull” as she has become a lot more aggressive on the ice. She is proud of her two penalties so far this season! That’s our girl…go #17! We are adjusting to 16, and all the independence and riding in cars with friends that it brings. Luckily she is about as afraid to ride with them, as we are to let her.

Rachel continues to work part time as a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, the rest of the time she’s the primary chef and taxi service. She is now focusing her attention preparing for the new arrival in April. She is planning to stay home once the little one gets here. So many changes are ahead!

We feel very blessed this year! We may not know what we are getting into, but we look forward to updating you on our new adventures as parents to the little one when he gets here. We have appreciated all your love and support over the year and we hope to see or hear from you soon!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
